Bahu-E-Bahu

Bahu Fort

A lush green manicured garden called Bagh-e-Bahu envelopes the fort in its scenic wrap. The terraced garden is full of beautiful fountains, dense tall trees and colorful flowers. Butterflies fluttering from flower to flower and dragonflies dancing away; the Bagh-e-Bahu is a perfect spot for a family picnic or get-together with friends.

The garden is decorated with aesthetic stone sculptures that fit in perfectly with the green background. An artificial waterfall glistens in the sun and murmurs calming vibrations in the ears of the onlooker. Bagh-e-Bahu makes for the perfect front of such a majestic and royal edifice such as the Bahu Fort.

Mubarak Mandi Palace

The architecture of the palace is an elaborate blend of Rajasthani, Mughal and European influences. One of its most spectacular segment, The Shesh Mahal or The Pink Hall houses the Dogra Art Museum which has several miniature paintings and Emperor Shah Jahan's golden bow and arrow, among other interesting things. The oldest building in this Palace complex date to 1824, having seen its own share of time and gathering specimens from all these ages, becoming one itself.

Mansar Lake

Mansar Lake

Mansar Lake is a perfect destination for a quiet, laid-back 'me time'. You can take a good walk on the paved walkway that surrounds the lake or can drink in the aesthetic natural environment, sitting in the well-attended and manicured lawns. A number of paddle and row boats are moored along the eastern shore of the lake. You can hire one of these at a nominal fee of INR 100 per hour and enjoy the serenity of the holy lake. The boating facility is available from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM every day.

Amar Mahal Museum

Amar Mahal is situated on the right bank of the Tawi River, on a bend of the river, in Jammu. Jammu, once a princely city, is also famous for forts, palaces and temples. The Sivalik Hills or ranges to the north of the Mahal, on the left bank of the river, provide a grand view, with the Tawi River flowing in between, draining the valley. It is well located adjoining the heritage hotel known as the Hari Niwas Palace Hotel, in the heart of the city.
